Unlike LinkedIn and Facebook, you can’t have a page on X for your business so you must create a profile like a user where you will publish the information of your company and produce content on your account. X, formerly known as Twitter, is a platform for users to follow the news and receive quick short information, so a business must mould their activity on the platform in that way. 

An effective presentation 

First of all, you need to start with the profile picture which can be the logo of your company, as well as indicating what is the name of your company. Presentation is important so users can identify with your business and what it is about straight away. Your bio on X is important because that gives you the opportunity to present your business and what you can provide to potential clients. 

However, you are limited by 160 characters for your bio. You need to use that to go straight to the point and be effective in getting users to follow you and spark engagement. Location can also be important for people to know if you are, for example a company based in London. You can also put your website link so it can be visible at the top of your page. People can then access it straight away from your profile.

Informative content 

Once you have created your profile on X, you need to produce content and tweet on a regular basis. You can can post tweets that will redirect to your website for an article on your blog for example. X can also be used for short updates about your business or for example new features on your product. The platform is used for these sort of posts because you are limited by 280 characters and so short announcements can be quite effective. 

To complement yours tweets, you can add hashtags to complement your content. It will help people find you if they are interested in the subject of your business. In terms of people you are going to try to reach out to, X is different to LinkedIn. LinkedIn is made for B2B marketing where you can reach out to businesses for marketing. Whereas X is more for B2C where you can reach out to potential customers. This means you need to create you content accordingly to attract these potential prospects.
